Stayed with the same Zmax z982 after last one shattered. Never bought a phone online, and was worried about it not being able to activate or possibly having issues after reading reviews from third party sellers. Worth the extra few dollars to buy directly from ZTE, I had no issues whatsoever getting this activated in store. Though I wasn't aware I had to buy a new sim card in addition to the activation fee, so it was $27 to get it turned on.
Love this phone and I'm glad I found it here.

My ATT phone had a micro sim card. I took the sim and the phone to a local ATT store. The attendant used a handheld tool and trimmed the sim card so that it fits perfectly in the new phone. Put it in and the phone immediately connected to my phone account. Works perfectly. Also works quite well with Android Auto on my sync 3 Ford F-150. I can easily switch between Wase and Google Maps.

I noticed a reviewer who loudly complained that the screen timed out and went black in just a few seconds. That person may not be smart enough to own a smartphone as this is controlled in the android settings under screen I believe. It'll stay on up to several minutes

Never could get this phone to connect to AT&T [HSPA] network. In the About Phone --> Status --> SIM kept showing it trying to connect and repeatedly getting disconnected! Also showed SIM card in service and we had a 5 bar signal (-66 db) to boot.

Sent it back, I liked the phone, easy to setup, WIFI worked great, but it would never connect to AT&T's cellular network which sort of makes it just an undersized tablet.

This isn't my first go around either with cellular. I'm using a 4G LTE modem/network setup for internet service so I have plenty of experience activating SIM cards and the phone verified the SIM was [In Service] so ...

It just wouldn't connect plain and simple and I'm guessing it was locked to a certain carrier [cough cough T-Mobile] since it kept giving me the restricted service message when trying to make a call! My advice, I'd steer clear of this phone! It seems a lot of the supposedly [Unlocked] phones being sold on Amazon are actually locked to certain carriers so buyer beware 😒

I called ZTE and spoke with them to make sure that I understand correctly - the Google search bar is stuck on all main screens and is not something that you are able to remove. I have never had that with any other device, including my ZTE's.

My other issue is that this phone came with a white plug/cord and clearly isn't made for this phone. When it is plugged in, I get the notification that I should use the correct charger. I am super annoyed that I now have to return this phone after having purchased everything for it.

I have had ZTE phones for years and I won't be buying another one.

My old model broke, so I wanted the same type at maybe a better version. Had my old one for 2+ years. Only used a jelly case, and was pretty hard on it, no cracks or problems with the C type charger for over two years. Finally dropped it pretty hard and cracked the screen. Was shocked to find a cheaper replacement on Amazon rather than in stores. This exceeded my expectations, great big screen. I don't need the latest greatest model of trendy phones. I need something solid and that works

. This does it's job at a low price. I'm impressed. I got one for my elderly mother, too. She's not too too tech savvy, so this was PERFECT. A HUGE screen for her little eyes, and for movies and music. Only Con I have is that they moved the headphone jack to the bottom. I preferred the top of the phone to have the jack. Sometimes, Google assistant comes up when I put in an AUX cord, and that's annoying. But, I'm just trying to find one thing wrong. That's it.

Great purchase! The Z982 has been my all-time favorite phone. I got this new one because my old one became bent, cracked, and had a poor battery life. The new one is even better than the old one, because it didn't come loaded with all the useless, annoying, MetroPCS apps that I would never use.

It came with a completely stock ROM/OS which is absolutely fantastic! So far the battery life is much better and I love having a new screen and undamaged body. You get a bit more storage back since it isn't loaded with MetroPCS garbage, perhaps like few hundred megabytes total, not much but it matters to people like me who load their phone with as much stuff as possible.

I purchased this phone to replace the ZTE Zmax Blade I was already using for 14 months. THIS PHONE IS NOT NEW OR REFURBISHED. JUST FACTORY RESET. SPEAKER IS BLOWN. FINGER PRINT SCANNER PLATE IS LOOSE. IT FREEZES ALL THE TIME. Luckily I kept my old one which is still in decent condition aside from how much it's slowed down. My 14 month old Blade works better than this one. Oh, and it didn't come in an original box and it came with an LG charger. This seller is a rip off. Period
